Meet the Team

  • Laura Tyson

    DIRECTOR

Laura has a background in Acrobatic Gymnastics both as an athlete and a coach. She competed at two Junior World Championships for Australia in Acrobatic Gymnastics, and was on the National Team for 4 years. Laura then started coaching and was a QLD State Team Coach, with multiple athletes on the State Team in Acrobatic Gymnastics for consecutive years.

Moving out of Gymnastics, Laura pursued choreography and dance teaching within the field of dance acrobatics. Laura’s passion is helping athletes achieve skills they never thought they would be capable of, in a positive and supportive environment. Laura holds a valid WWCC, police check, first aid & CPR, dance insurance and teaching qualifications under relevant bodies.

  • Chakera Houtby

    WORKSHOP ASSISTANT

Chakera competed for several years as a gymnast in her younger years. Her career came to an end due to injury, which is when she moved into coaching. After coaching for 8 years, Chakera pursued her passion in social work and now does this in a full time capacity. Chakera is an ‘expert’ living room dancer, and loves to continue to share her passion of movement, dance & acrobatics with all.

Chakera holds a valid WWCC, police check, first aid & CPR, insurance under AE, and teaching qualifications under relevant bodies.

  • Liam Rousseau

    EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST & WORKSHOP ASSISTANT

Liam is an ex Australian Acrobatic Gymnast who competed in both World Championships and World Cup events. He was part of the first men’s four group that represented Australia in the World Games in 2017. Liam then moved into coaching, where he coached internationally and went on to take one of his groups to a World Cup in Portugal.

Liam is an accredited Exercise Physiologist that has developed rehab and strength programs for his athletes to aid in recovery and performance. Chances are if you hear a loud laugh from across the room, it is most likely Liam. Liam holds a valid WWCC, first aid & CPR, insurance under AE, and Exercise and Sports Science Australia membership.
